James R. Dunn, CPA
I spent 4 years in the Navy as a jet engine mechanic before graduating from the College at Brockport in 1979 with my accounting degree. I spent many years enjoying the fruits of private practice while also working as an antique dealer with my wife, Janet. Lori and I went to college together, and had always used each other as a sounding board for tough client issues. In 2003 we created Dunn & Pedro, CPA’s PC to combine our practices, and, through additional mergers and acquisitions, we’ve built the firm into what it is today.
Lorene A. Pedro, CPA
I was first introduced to the world of tax and accounting by my father as a teen. So, it was natural for me to study accounting in college. I worked a couple of years in banking, but decided to purse public accounting and start my own practice in 1987. It was a wonderful fit for me to have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom while running a small practice. My business grew as my daughter did. As Jim and I went to the College at Brockport together, we were there for each other when we needed a second opinion regarding client work. In 2003 we decided to merge our individual practices and incorporate the business. And, as the saying goes….”the rest is history”.
Staff Accountant: After spending 20+ years in business management, I went back to school in 2010 and now hold 2 degrees in accounting, graduating with the second from the College at Brockport in 2014. I’m currently completing my CPA licensing exams.
Office Manager/ Accountant: I had spent most of my career as a full-charge bookkeeper/office manager in the construction industry. I have accounting experience in a manufacturing environment as well. This allowed me to raise my children and be there for all of their school and sports milestones, which was very important to me. I had always had an interest in tax accounting and worked seasonally as a tax preparer for several years when I was offered a full-time position at Dunn & Pedro. I happily accepted and enjoy my work here very much.
Staff Accountant: I knew I wanted to be an accountant since high school at Greece Arcadia. My time at the College at Brockport helped me focus my passion on tax accounting. Including my 2 years in Army ROTC, I graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2017 and joined Dunn & Pedro that fall. Outside of work, I spend time with my dog, and my boyfriend and I are in the process of remodeling our home.
Bert Butler, CPA
In continuous practice since the 50’s, Bert hired both Jim and Lori after they completed their educations. Later, it was with Bert’s encouragement that Jim and Lori went into business together, and later merging Bert’s firm into theirs as he prepared for retirement. With over 60 years of tax and accounting under his belt, Bert provides a level of knowledge and experience you won’t find at other firms.
Additionally are the part-time and seasonal staff that help us to complete your taxes as efficiently and accurately as possible.
